Had a horrible experience. Freezer was delivered from the nicest delivery company .
We plugged it in to bring it to temp. Waited till the thermostat had come to the correct temp and transferred our meet into the new freezer. This is an ordeal took like 20 minutes to organize it how we wanted it. That night the alarm kept going off. We were worried so we purchased censors to go to our phone if temperature dropped. For a couple days we tried adjusting the temp but the alarm kept going off again. Finally we had to move the meat to a friend™™s freezer and send it back. Now we are waiting for a new freezer to be sent. Such a run around getting it approved to be returned and a new one sent. This better not happen again!!

Great quality, very efficient storage and I love the visual alarm for power loss and audible alarm if the temperature raised to high. Still filling the chest up but all products freeze quick and frost is minimal

We bought this freezer April 2025. Almost immediately it started frosting over. Now I have to chip the frost off of the corners periodically so it shuts right. It also has plastic rails to hold the baskets in place that have already broke off.

Loving it so far- it's been in place (in our garage) and up and running for just over a month. The rails with the four baskets is handy and should help us keep things more organized. Hoping NOT to loose anything down the the bottom of the unit and find it months (ok, maybe years later- but that was an isolated incident and to be fair it was a small package of beef.) The lid is solid and sturdy and I appreciate the brightness of the LED light. It cooled down quickly to temperature after unpacking so we could get it loaded up right away. We bought this model as it was EnergyStar compliant, garage ready and the right size for our needs (2 person family, but with homegrown fruit, veg and livestock that is processed and frozen).

So far I'm pleased with the freezer. The only issue I have found with the freezer is the temperature control dial on the front bottom of the unit. I can be spun by simply a light touch of the finger which makes it possible to simply hit it with your foot and turn it up or down by accident. I called a technician to fix the issue and was told that the looseness is normal. Technician stated that some dials turn easily and some turn harder. That doesn't say much for GE's quality consistency. I had to mark the temperature dial with a marker and put a piece of tape over over it to make sure it doesn't get moved by accident. I shouldn't have to do that to a brand new freezer. I have a smaller GE freezer which I had bought a few weeks prior to this one and its dial worked as it should. It had numbers marked on it and resistance to being turned. It clicks into place as the dial is turned. This is how an external temperature control knob should operate. Why the larger freezer has a free spinning temperature control dial is anybody's guess.

Purchased 3-years ago and it stopped freezing. Had part replaced in compressor and it™™s working; however, will need to pay $600 to add refrigerant. For the amount of money paid, should have lasted longer than 3 years. I would not recommend this product.

Good looking product, packed well to prevent damage to exterior and interior baskets. Only complaint is the short power cord. The power is ok one side of the freezer and the cord barely reaches the opposite side at its lowest point making positioning limited..

I'm just giddy! This freezer is nicer than I could even imagine. I have wanted a GE freezer for a long time and bought this from the internet. Your description did not describe it very well. It is so much nicer than I even hoped for. It is lighted, It has 5 baskets- none of this is mentioned. I never did find our what "garage ready" meant.

We noticed the food softening and surprised the alarm wasn't ringing. (It has rung in the past when we lost power after storms. ) We had the repair company come out and they said the compressor was broken and it would need a new one. It would cost $700 to fix. (They are on sale now with $850 with rebates.) This freezer is only 2 years old and costs $1000.00. We should be able to get a GE product and have it last longer than 2 years for that kind of money.

Our 65' deep freezer just got installed a few days ago and we are already loving having the extra food storage space! The baskets inside are a huge plus as we are able to put smaller packaged items in them and not lose them in the bottom of the freezer. We love the temperature indicator light and the locking feature that ensures the kiddos are kept safe and unable to leave it open.

The compressor failed after about 4 years. It did have a funny sound to it that others mentioned, but it was in the Garage so it didn't matter. I didn't feel it iced up to quickly. it hadn't needed defrosting before the compressor failed. It had about an inch of ice at the thickest points.

So happy with the product. My first chest freezer. Just what we want and need. Delivery was very good from Lowe™™s and delivery personnel were also very good. Perfect condition was perfect and happy consumer report gave very high rating. Would have giving 5 stars but need to have at least a few months to do so. Believe in fair and accurate reviews.
