It gets confusing when the package look look changes™¦along with the model number.
However, GE has a customer service and you can call them for any questions about the under counter filter. The housing that holds the filter sometimes needs to be changed™¦I have been a happy customer for a long time.

These new filters are horrible and do not last as long as the original filters. Not sure what forced the change - maybe they just want you to order filters for frequently - but just hold up to what was once a good water filter option.

I had been using FQSVF filters for the past 8 years and was really disappointed to see them discontinued. I was hoping the FQSVN would be comparable but it™™s not. Unlike other reviewers, I had no issues with installation. The filters are bigger so I was hoping maybe they™™d last longer? That wasn™™t the case. With relatively the same household usage, the water flow started to slow down after 1.5 months. The FQSVF used to go for 3 months before the water flow slow down. Also, after installing and running the water for a few min, the water felt like it left a residue on my hands, similar to hard water. I had to run it for about a good 15-20 min before that went away. Maybe this is why it didn™™t last as long either. These issues never happened with the FQSVF. I was really hesitant to drink the water because of this. I™™m not convinced it filters water as well. Aside from the replacement filters, there™™s nothing wrong with my filter system and I™™d hate to replace something that isn™™t broken but I will likely look for a different brand.

This upgraded FQSVN water filter set is horrible and does not fit the FQSVF Smart Water filter. It had major air bubbles and leaked. I am now out the money that I spent. I want the old ones FQSVF. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UPGRADED (LOL) PRODUCT. So disappointing.

This filter is NOT compatible with FQSVF. The holes in the filter do not even match. I wish you would change this on your website, because others have mentioned the same thing. I hope I can return these.

Zero water flow from these cartridges in my SmartWater GXSV65F system that used the old FQSVF cartridges. When I put the old FQSVF back in, water flow was normal again. The hole pattern in the top of the FQSVN looks different than FQSVF.

For the original version of Replacement Part FQSVF (Water Filtration System For the original version of Replacement Part FQSVF (Water Filtration System GXSV65F), please provide an option that doesn't recommend using Replacement Part FQK2J (Water Filtration System GXSV65R).
For years, I and other customers have reported this replacement part fails to work.
If no other option exists, ...please let us know this. We've wasted so much time.

Not sure why the old filter was discontinued. The water flow was excellent... now with new replacement filters/new model number, the water trickles out. Too bad. Need to now look at replacing the unit.

Seems that these filters are the requirement for the FQSVF filters that were the original filters for my under sink filter system.
Well they s*ck, water flow is slow, even after a couple days (hoped it would have gotten better, original filters never had an issue).
Home Depot which is where I used to buy originals now has online a non GE replacement, but reviews are mixed. Found another company that sells (makes their own) filters that are replacements too, no reviews yet, so may give them a try when it comes time to replace the filters I just installed, I'm going to continue using them as I'm not going to throw money down the drain (as it were).
Why did GE discontinue the original filters?

This is a update to a previous review.
When I learned GE replaced the FQSVF filters with FQSVN, I searched online and found a site that had the older filters. I placed an order, but when they arrived they were the FQSVN filters, so being they cost more I sent them back.
So it seems there is no other option but to use the replacement filters? I still have time on ones still using so I'll have to see how the new ones perform for me.
Oh and the filters from the other company were wrapped in plastic with no foil seal, the ones I used to get from Home Depot had the foil seal, but we're not wrapped. This may answer one other reviewer's concerns that the filters they received were used.

How I know why there's been a problem re-establishing my Smart Order subscription, because the part number has been superceded (just tried ordering then as a new order).
Did a search and found the original FQSVF filters on a filter site, ( ordered and hopefully they are the originals).
They're more $ per pair than than from GE, but less than having to buy two of the new part number.
Still wish Home Depot still stocked these.

Although I've had the water dispenser for years, I still read the replacement filter installation instructions just in case there are new directions. 1) Both cartridges did not have their safety foil for me to remove..they were both wrapped in the same plastic packaging; 2) When I turned on the water to flush them out as instructed, the water came out explosively -splashing water everywhere from the filter's spigot; 3) the water flow is slow and narrow --Is it because the purification process is better? Or are the cartridges used? --I'll give it another try with a new replacement.

I don't know, becuase it is never in stock on this website. I heard that the filters being sold on Amazon might be counterfeit so I came here for the original supplier. Counterfeit or not, at least Amazon will sell me something.
