I didn™€™t know you could fall in love with an appliance until I got this dishwasher. Purchased ~5 years ago and it™€™s a dream. I could have the dirtiest of plates and pans with 5 day old food stuck on them and it™€™ll get them perfectly clean and dry every time (except for avocado, it has problems with stuck on avocado). I love the space in it, but it is a little noisy, a price I happily pay for sparkling clean dishes. I had to replace the motor a few months ago but even that was a breeze to do myself and cheap. Like seriously, why haven™€™t you bought this machine yet? (I do feel the need to say that I actually do love my spouse more than the dishwasher, but it™€™s a close second.)

Dishwasher is about 5 years old and it is acting up, e.g. random noises, need to reset the dishwasher regularly. Middle rack is also not very sturdy and had to replace the water supply for the middle section as well.

Electronic Issues.

The dishwasher cleans well and is very quiet. I have had it for about three years. Food particles build up along the bottom gasket and it has to be cleaned often. I have been having a problem now with the power going off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in a few times before it goes on. I just replaced the control board which was supposed to fix it but it didn™€™t. Not sure what to do next expect to recycle it?

A Dishwasher the Crashes

This dishwasher dies for no apparent reason. It's a known problem that GE won't do anything about. Google it and see the numerous accounts of this exact problem. The dishwasher was super. We loved it, until it crashed. We replaced the motherboard, and worked for another month before crashing again. A couple weeks later, it mysteriously started working again. It worked for two more weeks, and it crashed again. It will not come back to life. We are shopping for another dishwasher right now. Had it not crashed multiple times, I would have given it 5 stars.

This dishwasher stopped working a few months ago. It won™€™t turn on. Spent hours troubleshooting it, called a GE certified appliance tech- he also was not able to fix; that was after I paid a plumber to rule out a drain or pipe issue. It was the electronic control board that stopped working completely. This dishwasher was bought new and installed into a new house. Will avoid GE appliances from now on.

Loved it at first but not worth the money. It keeps losing power. I would trip the breaker let it reset and then it would run a few times until it did it again. Tripping the breaker no longer works. I can see from a lot of reviews I am not alone. The problem is GE doesn™€™t indicate what the problem is or how to fix it. With this many people having issues you think the problem part would be replaced by GE.

this was purchased in 2022. The past year there has been problems with the racks, water dispenser, and sensor. The water jet falls off often and has to be put back onto the rack. The rack also does not close properly now. It needs an extra push to close completely. It is poor quality. I hoped the dishwasher would last a long time, but three years in and it falls apart. Lastly, the sensor has been acting up as well. It does not always start the cycle. I get an alert beep. I have to cancel the cycle and restart it many times. I watched GE's tutorials about how to remedy this. Not sure why this began recently.

Bought this a few years ago. Called around and neither GE or any other company had someone in our area(capital of a state) to come and fix it. Called a private company that worked for GE for a combined 25+ years and they came out. Told us the motor went bad, $160 to order it. The next week the plastic tube that connects to the motor was bad by trying to replace the motor. Ordered part. Third week the guy comes and fixes it, noticed another part making a noise and takes it off, washer falls apart. Totaled $360 for parts and labor. Told the guy I will not call a service tech as I could have bought a brand new one for this price. It works again, but what else could we run in to? Will not be buying a GE appliance again.

Same story as everyone else - it will no longer power on. We spent our hard-earned money on this machine, replacing an older Whirpool unit that worked fine but was showing its age. Now this GE no longer responds to flipping the circuit breaker and we're stuck with a dead dishwasher since we currently can't afford to fix or replace it. I guess we should have known since our GE microwave also broke right after the warrantly expired. Oh well.

Now only 6 years later I find that the integrated circuit needs to be replaced ($400), hoses have developed a leak & it doesn't clean as well, despite regular filter cleaning. 6 YEARS??? This product quit working after 3 yrs. Stopped powering on. I replaced the circuit board with board sold from GE. I™€™ve now narrowed it down to power to the control board. I checked pins for power before inserting door wire harness. I had power at the pins. Inserted harness and had now power in the harness itself. So I will be replacing with harness from GE off the diagram. So disappointed.

Loved this dishwasher until it started leaking and pouring through my floor boards into the basement 4 years after purchase. And after 4 years the front control board has a crack in it after normal use. Something that should never happen. I have had dishwashers in the past for over 10 years that has never flooded or had cracks. Not acceptable! It cleaned very well and sanitized great. Next time will purchase a tray to place dishwasher on. Doubt if it will be GE.

Randomly Shuts off/will not turn back on

As I've read from everyone else, we've had the same issue. Our dishwasher would randomly turn on and off and sometimes wouldn't turn on at all until I flipped the breaker. Now it doesn't come on at all. We ordered a new control board and it's not the right part, nor can we find anything to match the one from our appliance. Extremely frustrating.

No more power after having this machine for about 3-4 years. Called GE customer care and they said there's no similar issues reported on this machine, while there are plenty here in the review. Watched another YouTube video of a guy trying to fix his GE dishwasher with identical issues by replacing the main control board and I took my control board off of the machine. There were obvious fume marks on the plastic backing of the main control board so I decided to call GE to buy a replacement board. The rep said the part number printed on the control board is not how they are captured in their system, and all the p/n in their system starts with "W" and the board I held in my hand doesn't even have a 'W' anywhere. Double checked the model number and it's the main control board, I asked the rep to place the order for me. Then it turned out it's indeed another main control board for another machine! The connectors housing shape is different, pin number is different. I'm doubting whether GE has a good system for field service parts. The cost of the board was about $100 new from GE. Maybe just buy another brand entirely is the best option now.

Had this dishwasher for about 4 years and it's been giving us issues for at least the last 6 months. Specifically lately it's been both somewhat leaky and has not been washing properly. We had a tech come out and said the pump is completely dead, and will be 490 dollars to replace. Looking at other reviews it seems this was a common problem and should have been recalled. I won't be buying another GE product and will be sharing this information with friends and family.

Never have had so many issues with an appliance. Within the first year I started having the unit Turn off/on randomly. Wasn™€™t a problem unless I needed to use it and it was off. Sometimes I had to simply flip the breaker. Sometimes I had to unplug the unit for a few hours then plug back in. Sometimes I™€™d have to disconnect the electrical connections underneath the unit and reconnect them. Sometimes I™€™d have to open the junction box underneath the unit and disconnect the power cord, then wire nut the connections back together. Sometimes I™€™d have to pull the lower rack out and vacuum suck any existing water in the drain (if there was any), then unplug the unit and let it set for a couple hours then plug it back in to power on. I™€™ve been doing this for about 3 1/2 years of ownership and finally I think the control board has given out completely which has obviously been the problem since I pretty much bought this unit. Now I get to buy a replacement for around $200 on a unit I™€™ve been troubleshooting/servicing almost weekly for roughly 3 1/2 yrs just to keep it functioning this long. This has not been a good experience at all and that™€™s stating it mildly. That™€™s my honest experience and review of this Dishwasher unfortunately.

This thing has all the bells & whistles but the bottom line is it DOES NOT get dishes clean. I've used several dishwashers and this is the worst. No matter how you dress it up, it just doesn't clean which is the most important function of the unit.

Glad I saw these reviews before I spent money on repairs or parts. At almost exactly 5 years it just stopped working. Control Panel doesn™€™t light up even though there™€™s power to the dishwasher. Up until now it worked great. Help me GE!!

Same problem as everyone else. Machine wouldn't turn on unless power was reset at breaker. That eventually stopped working, and the board was replaced. New board lasted 2 months and now we're in same position. Sounds like a recall or a class action is needed here..... Support: Don't bother replying with troubleshooting link!

This washer is very quiet as it is placed in an island. I can hear it washing but can carry on a normal conversation while it is washing.

Just like a lot of others posting here the unit suddenly stops turning on. The main circuit board goes bad and intermittently won't turn on until eventually it's just entirely dead

Went to start my Model Number GDF630PSM0SS this morning and it wouldn't power on. After trying my breaker to no luck still didn't come on. It's only 3 to 4 years old. I will not buy another GE product.

Cheap parts - control board issue

Dishwasher completely bricked (powerless) after 2 years of usage. I found out they use a cheap control board that fails after 2-3 years. Buy the extended warranty. You'll need it. GE mfg warranty is 12 months. https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WD21X24498

Dishwasher is junk

This dishwasher is junk! It™€™s less than 4 years old and will no longer power on. I had to hire an electrician to come out and verify it wasn™€™t my electrical. And it wasn™€™t my electrical, the dishwasher is garbage. Very frustrating! I would NOT recommend this dishwasher and will likely never go with a GE appliance again.

Loved it till it began to fail at almost every use

We are having the same problem others are reporting. After about three years of great service the dishwasher now often loses all power and requires the power be cycled several times before it will work again. I™€™m concerned about having it fixed because there are many reports of the problem recurring. And I™€™m also worried about buying a new GE for the same reason.

Board went bad twice.

Machines stopped working after 3 months. I had a 2 year service plan on it. I called and they took 6 months to get my part which was the board. Once it arrived it was the wrong one. They order a new one and it took 2 months to arrive. After a year of seldom use it stopped working again. They changed the board again, the control panel and the latch. It lasted upt to month 25 and it stopped working again. Not sure what the problem is but is been broken more than it has been used. I would not recommend this machine.

Very upset this dishwasher came with our new build. Its 2 years old and is leaking all over the floor. Paid for a Sears diagnostic person to come out today, at the recommendation of GE. The repair tech arrived at 8:54 am and left at 9:05. It was $150.95 total to be told what the issue was, and its not even fixed. He would need to order the parts and come back with an estimate over $500.00.

Same issue as I'm seeing most people are having. Dishwasher randomly loses power. Flipping breaker worked a few times but now it stays off. Please GE see how many people have this same issue and fix it!! Definitely a quality issue.
