We loved this dishwasher when we bought it--it's a beautiful stainless steel, roomy inside. My favorite perk is the closeable lids over the silverware compartment, so I can wash tiny things and know where to find them after the wash. It plays a happy little tune at the end of the cycle. However, it started playing the happy tune at odd times, and now our dishwasher has died; the mother board went out, we are told. The GE repairman says it will cost around $800 to repair this less-than-$400 machine?!? It had only a one-year warranty, which I have heard recently is unbelievably short. So, we have to shop again. It's only been three to four years.

I have been having the same exact problem with the power as others have posted for weeks now. I have to unplug it and wait for it to power on, over and over again. We've only had it about 4 - 5 years max. It's ridiculous. GE should be providing solutions to this problem which is an obvious issue for multiple owners.

Great when it works

When it works, it works great. Since year 2 the dishwasher started to not have any power. I found that if I switch the breaker on and off it would magically get power again. Then that stopped working so I started unplugging the motherboard and that worked for a month. We are now in year 6 and have no power what so ever. I was thinking of replacing the motherboard but reading the reviews I must say im not sure what I want to do.

Drain pump fails constantly, water doesn't drain

It dows not clean well and I scrap and wash hardend on food. Many time the glasses and silverware come out smelly and I have to wash them again. I empty dishwasher when cycle complete and dry- never leave them in dishwasher overnight. I am disappointed, considering it was not a cheap dishwasher.

Very Short Life Span

Have owned this dishwasher for 5 years. In that 5 years this dishwasher has been used less than10 times. Two weeks ago the dishwasher started making a beeping sound even though it was not being used. Beeping went on for a few days then stopped on its own. Went to use the dishwasher and there™€™s no power to it. I expected this appliance to last longer than this. Certainly did not expect it to be dead after less than 10 uses.

Pretty quiet, and worked great...for 4 years, then, as other people noted, it suddenly began beeping when not in use and then would not start. After flipping the breaker, it worked--for a few days. Then, nothing. This dishwasher has had light use in four years, and one would expect that it would last MUCH longer.

Second one in 6 years. The first one went in 2.5 years. I paid for GE service to come out. The cost of repairs was 2/3 the cost of a new one so I just had them replace it. Fast forward to now and it™€™s doing the same control board issue that others are having. It will beep at random times. The green indicator light showing that dish washer cycle is complete doesn™€™t turn on any more and now it™€™s dying regularly. I have to unplug and replug it in to reset it. It™€™s worked once or twice now but sometimes it doesn™€™t. All of my other appliances are GE Profile except for this and they have had issues as well. GE I™€™ve been loyal to you in for my rentals and my personal home. I™€™m going to try a control board replacement on this however when it dies so will my purchases of GE products. They just don™€™t last anymore.

we got this appliance fitted into my brand new house. This is just over 2 years and it has stopped working. it does not come online, no power and looks like completely dead. we tried resetting with power plug but nothing helped. Called customer care and i was told they will charge $115 just to come and have a look. This look like a tactic to first sell mediocre product and make money from customer. So disappointed that GE appliance got dead in just over 2 years. Bad name and i will think doubly to buy any GE product in future.

Electrical issues after about 3 years

After just 3 years it began having electrical issues. It would beep at completely random times when not in operation. Sometimes it would not start unless we toggled the breaker. Then one day it would just not turn on anymore. An electrician verified that the circuit is fine. We only ran it once or sometimes twice a week. Not a lot of cycles for a major appliance to break.

We built our house with Ryan homes and selected this appliance with our appliance package and discovered this week that both racks are rusting .. the bottom rack is starting to disintegrate on the back side of the bottom slide out .. and the top rack has a couple spots not as bad as the bottom rack.. disappointed not sure if they are under warranty but will have to replace the device or the racks now :/

Leaks Water

This was a builder-installed appliance and is just over 2 years old and the bottom seal was already dryrotted and leaking water onto my kitchen floor. I ordered an installed a replacement seal and it is still leaking onto the floor. The dishwasher works great except for the leak. This issue shouldn't be happening on a dishwasher that is still relatively new. Having someone come look at it is about as much as a new dishwasher. If I end up replacing it, it won't be with the same model or brand

Terrible Dishwasher

If I could give this a negative star, I would. The top panel where the controls are located popped off within one month of owning this. This was a brand new dishwasher in a brand new custom built home. Even with thoroughly rinsing our dishes before putting in this hunk of junk, they are dirty. We usually put one load in for two cycles and they still do not come clean! So disappointing.

Not a great dishwasher. Has broken twice in 2 years. First time the entire motherboard went out, second time was the heating element. Overall cheap material that just doesn™€™t last.

Just adding to the long list of horrid reviews - not sure how GE thought putting out this trash would bode well for their company. It's an embarrassment! First it was the circuit board and controls, the top wash arm snapped off and had to be zip tied in place, now it won't drain. 3 years old and it should be thrown out. Ive NEVER been more disgusted by an appliance and the company that manufactured it. To have to pay a C minimum of $145 for a service call not including the parts and labor needed. Junk.

I™€™ve had this product for not even 3 years and it™€™s already falling apart! The latch doesn™€™t work so dishwasher won™€™t turn on. Cheap product but I guess that™€™s what I expect from cheap contractors that sold me a house that™€™s also falling apart.

Great dishwasher until it wasn™€™t. Much like some of the other reviews it just stopped working after only 2 years. I™€™ve had lots of GE appliances in the past that were great but this will make me hesitant to buy another one.

In addition to a latch failure, inadequate cleaning cycles, and its loud operation, this dishwasher failed after a mere 15 months. The main computer board failed, causing the appliance to fail to drain. Replacing the mother board would make repair completely cost preventative.

The dishwasher cleans the dishes quite well. The racks are poorly designed and various dishware doesn't fit well. The controls are satisfactory once you learn how to use them as they aren't clearly explained. Overall it does what a diswasher is supposed to do so I have no complaints!

Horrible Dishwasher Deign

The console has popped off the dishwasher TWICE. I have had to rebuy the part, TWICE. You have to take the door off to replace the part. Tech needed. VERY EXPENSIVE. Horrible design!!!!

Top control panel is trash

I had to replace the top panel because the plastic clips all broke off over the two years I™€™ve had the dishwasher. The replacement part doesn™€™t want to go on and the clips started coming off while we tried to install it.

Malfunctioning within 2 years

Worst GE product. The face plate broke off of it, they sent us a new one, that one broke off, sent another, that one broke - the design is poor. BUT the major issue is that in 2 years it stopped working all together. Service person came out and said it's the circuit board and we need a new one. It's costing us $200 to fix a 2-year old dishwasher, when a brand new one apparently costs just over $350. Clearly cheaply made and GE should stand by their products and not charge $150 service fee for a 2 year old appliance. In addition, we will be going approximately 3-4 weeks without a dishwasher, assuming all goes right when they come back. We are very disappointed and will not be ordering another GE appliance.

This appliance was installed when we had our house built in 2020. It™€™s just over 3 years old. We™€™ve already had a repair guy out once,about 2 years ago,and now it stopped working altogether. We already cleaned the filter and addressed every issue. It doesn™€™t clean dishes anymore and doesn™€™t dry properly. We™€™ll never buy GE appliances again!
